Founded by mother Peggy Waxter as a donor advised fund, with preference for supporting programs related to the enforcement of underage drinking laws, driving under the influence and substance use disorder.
Garrett R. Petronchak graduated from Walkersville High School and attended Frederick Community College for two years. In April 1995, Mr. Petronchak was killed in an alcohol-related car accident on Route 26. In his memory, Mr. Petronchak’s mother Peggy Waxter established The Garrett R. Petronchak Memorial Scholarship Fund. This donor advised fund provides support to programs related to the enforcement of underage drinking laws, driving under the influence and substance use disorder. Resulting from tragedy, the fund aims to assist others avoid the perils of drinking and driving.
