Founded by daughter Anne-Lynn Gross to support Frederick Rescue Mission.
“Judge” Gross was known for positively impacting the lives of others while he served as District Court Commissioner in Frederick. Similarly, the Frederick Rescue Mission assists individuals mend their lives. Established by his daughter, Anne-Lynn Gross, The “Judge” William B. Gross Fund supports the work of the Frederick Rescue Mission.

In memory and in honor of her father, Anne-Lynn Gross created this fund through her estate provisions. “Judge” Gross was known for positively impacting the lives of others while he served as District Court Commissioner in Frederick. His legacy will live on by providing scholarships to high school students pursuing post-secondary education.

Such services may include medical treatment, housing assistance, psychological, physical, occupational, recreational, music, and art therapies, companionship, mentoring, employment training, and any other service that will help veterans of the war. To honor Rob’s memory, the Seidel family established The 1LT Rob Seidel Wounded Soldiers Fund to support charities that provide direct services to military veterans of the war on terrorism. Such services may include medical treatment, housing assistance, psychological, physical, occupational, recreational, music, and art therapies, companionship, mentoring, employment training, and any other service that will help veterans of the war.
1LT Rob Seidel was a 2000 Catoctin High graduate, where he played football and baseball and excelled academically. He went on to graduate from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and served as a platoon leader with the 10th Mountain Division in Iraq. The United States and the Frederick County community lost a dedicated soldier when 1LT Seidel was killed in action in Iraq on May 18, 2006. As a platoon leader, 1LT Seidel felt a tremendous responsibility for the safety and well-being of his men, putting their concerns above himself. To honor his memory and his commitment to his troops, his parents, Bob and Sandy Seidel, established The 1LT Rob Seidel Wounded Soldiers Fund to award grants to nonprofit organizations who support wounded soldiers with medical treatment, housing assistance, psychological counseling, physical and occupational therapies, companionship, mentoring and employment training.
