Each year, the Community Foundation recognizes several people from Frederick County who are selfless in their contributions of time, energy and talents because they want to make difference in the lives of others.
There’s a story behind every fund created at the Community Foundation. Let’s start with one of the very first: the Smith Sisters, who created The Mary E. M. and Ruth E. Smith Scholarship Fund.
Are you familiar with The Community Foundation of Frederick County? It was established in 1986 by community advocates who wanted to create a place where people could put their charitable dollars to work in ways that were meaningful to them.
