Founded by wife Linda Agar-Hendrix for Frederick County Public high school graduates, preferably those studying information technology, the sciences, music, or the arts.
Michael David Hendrix was an accomplished engineer with Bechtel Power when he passed away from injuries sustained in an airplane accident. Mr. Hendrix’s wife, Linda, wanted to honor her husband’s memory by establishing The Michael David Hendrix Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Fund provides scholarships to graduates of Urbana High School or Glenelg Country School, with first preference given to those studying in scientific fields with a focus on information technology and second preference given to those studying engineering, with special consideration given to performing arts, visual arts and music majors.
