Founded by father John Stush for Frederick County graduating seniors with financial need, with preference given to applicants who participated in Boy Scouts of America or Girl Scouts of the USA.
Todd Stush had a warm heart, great sense of humor and an adventurous spirit. As a youth, Todd was a Cub Scout, became a Boy Scout, and earned the coveted Eagle rank. He enjoyed white water rafting in the Southwest, skiing in Lake Tahoe, and water sports. While attending Governor Thomas Johnson High School, Todd belonged to the ski club at Ski Liberty. After graduating from Governor Thomas Johnson High School in 1983, Todd attended University of Maryland, College Park where he played rugby. Todd also loved working on his Mustang with friends converting the car from automatic to standard shift. To honor his commitment to scouting and the community, Todd’s father, John Stush established The Todd J. Stush Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund will provide scholarships to graduating seniors in Frederick County demonstrating financial need. Preference will be given to students who participated in either Boy Scouts of America or Girl Scouts of the USA, with a record of community service while involved in scouting.
