Community Foundation Announces FY2023 Strategic Grant Application

FREDERICK, MD – July 26, 2022:  The Community Foundation of Frederick County announces its FY2023 dates for strategic grant applications. Funding for these strategic grants is made possible through generous donors who are FY23 Strategic Funding Partners and donors who have contributed to the Forever Frederick County campaign.  This campaign began in 2019 following an updated Human Needs Assessment study done to capture Frederick County’s greatest needs. This study created the new strategic areas of focus of supporting families with children, preparing for an aging population, and responding to substance use disorder. In response to shifting needs and resources throughout the county due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Community Foundation updated its needs assessment in 2022, revealing several emerging areas of need. The Community Foundation continues to address the target areas identified in the 2018 study but will also begin prioritizing emerging areas of need that include supporting access to affordable housing, addressing mental health needs, and alleviating disparities in service delivery.

Applications for strategic grants will be accepted now through August 15, 2022. This grant cycle will allow organizations to apply for program grants to support services related to the Community Foundation’s 2019 Strategic Initiatives with a focus on the 2022 emerging areas of need.

All grant applications are made through the Community Foundation’s online application process, and details and a link to the application can be found at www.FrederickCountyGives.org/grants.

To be eligible to apply, an organization must certify it is one of the following and in good standing: a 501c3 nonprofit; a government agency applying for an extraordinary project that is not funded by tax revenue; a religious organization requesting funding for non-sectarian activities; or a civic group that is not a 501c3 requesting funding for a community cause.
