FREDERICK, MD – November 2, 2021: The Georgia Marie Abdow Memorial Fund has been established with The Community Foundation of Frederick County and becomes one of its more than 750 component funds.
Founded by Mark and Michele Abdow in memory of their daughter, this donor-advised fund will provide grants to organizations that offer services to individuals and their families experiencing substance use disorder.
Georgia was a 2020 graduate of American University, where she studied public relations and marketing, with a focus on social media content for the entertainment industry. The loss of their daughter led the Abdows to create this fund, with the hope it can help others combat the negative effects that substance use disorder has on families and their children.
