Peter Brehm has been an active volunteer in the Frederick area for many years, supporting organizations and their activities relating to the arts, local festivals, the environment, community and neighborhood development, and social issues. He received a 2015 Wertheimer Fellow for Excellence in Volunteerism Award from The Community Foundation of Frederick County. Our 2021 Wertheimer Fellow and Youth in Action Award nominations are open through May 31. Mr. Brehm’s story should inspire our community to nominate similar volunteers this year.

FREDERICK, MD – May 18, 2021: To help increase access to educational programs for non-traditional learners, The Dr. Larry J. Warner Fund has been established with The Community Foundation of Frederick County and becomes one of its more than 740 component funds.

FREDERICK, MD – May 13, 2021: To support temporary assistance for veterans, The Sgt. David J. Smith Veterans Relief Fund has been established with The Community Foundation of Frederick County and becomes one of its more than 740 component funds.

Jeanie Cronin has been tireless with her efforts in advocating for and providing services to immigrant populations in Frederick. She received a 2010 Wertheimer Fellow for Excellence in Volunteerism Award from The Community Foundation of Frederick County. Our 2021 Wertheimer Fellow and Youth in Action Award nominations are open throughout the month of May, and I would like to take the time to share Ms. Cronin’s story with the hope that it will inspire our community to nominate similar volunteers this year.
