Each year, the Community Foundation presents hundreds of post-secondary scholarships to deserving students who are working towards degrees or certifications and training that will provide the skills necessary to be productive, successful adults.
Frederick County is rich in history, from the Revolutionary War forward. Originally, Memorial Day honored those who lost their lives fighting in the Civil War. As world wars and other conflicts evolved, the holiday became a way to honor all who have died serving their country.
We celebrated Mother’s Day yesterday, May 12. Millions of people bought cards, flowers, candy and other symbols of love to show their appreciation for their mom, mother-in-law, grandmother, godmother, and anyone who has filled the role of “mom” at various times.
Spring is here, and no one knows that better than Frederick County farmers. There’s much to do to prepare for crop planting, orchard pruning, spring births of animals, equipment repairs, and much more.
