June is Pride Month – a time to celebrate the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) community. Pride Month commemorates years of struggle for civil rights and the ongoing pursuit of equal justice for LGBTQ+ people. The Community Foundation is proud to support programs at The Frederick Center through funds created by Wertheimer Fellows.
One week from today is Memorial Day, a national holiday to honor those who have died while serving in the U.S. military. Sadly, Frederick County has felt the loss of too many service members who did not return from the front lines. Some of those families have turned to the Community Foundation to help them honor their fallen family member.
The Community Foundation has been helping people honor mothers for decades. We work with donors who want to honor and remember their loved one in a way that positively impacts the broader community.
While April 22 is recognized as Earth Day, we all know that to make a difference, we have to make every day Earth Day. The Community Foundation is proud to partner with generous donors who are committed to supporting environmental and conservation efforts locally and throughout the region.
April is National Volunteer Month and Frederick County is fortunate that thousands of people volunteer their time, talent, expertise and energy to improve the lives of others in our community.
