Donald W. and Louise Guyton Memorial Fund

Founded by Mrs. Guyton in memory of her husband for grants to Frederick County Career and Technology Center for students studying construction electricity or environmental landscape design and management.

Mr. Guyton was a well-known electrical contractor in the Frederick and surrounding areas. He retired from the family business that he had started over 50 years ago. Mr. Guyton is remembered for his willingness to extend a helping hand to customers, community, friends and family and this fund will extend that generosity for years to come.

Founded by its board of directors to support improvements and enhancements to the holiday lights on the trees in downtown Frederick.

Founded through a collaborative effort between Downtown Frederick Partnership, the City of Frederick and Tourism Council of Frederick County, this fund will support improvements and enhancements to downtown holiday lighting. Each year, the lights bring residents, visitors and businesses the magic of the holiday lights.

Dr. Christopher M. Hassett Science Scholarship Fund for St. John’s Catholic Prep

Founded by parents Maurice and Mary Hassett for the School’s graduates to study physical sciences.

Dr. Christopher M. Hassett was a graduate of St. John’s at Prospect Hall (now St. John’s Catholic Prep) who earned an undergraduate degree from Bridgewater College and master’s degrees from San Diego State University and the University of California, Los Angeles, which also conferred his doctorate in public health. An accomplished genetic researcher, Dr. Hassett died of heart failure at the age of 50. Dr. Hassett had a passion for science, which will now be passed on to community students through his memorial scholarship fund, The Dr. Christopher Hassett Science Scholarship Fund for St. John’s Catholic Prep. The Fund awards scholarships to graduates of St. John’s Catholic Prep who are majoring in one of the physical sciences at the post-secondary institution of their choice.

Dr. David Everhart, Jr. and Marybell C. Everhart Charitable Fund

Founded through Mrs. Everhart’s estate provisions for the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Braddock Heights.

Mr. and Mrs. Everhart were both active members of the Frederick community. Mrs. Marybell C. Everhart graduated from The Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore with a degree in art. She also studied interior design and tailoring at Frederick Community College. Some of her many interests included gardening, oil painting and reading. The legacies of the Everharts will live on through this fund which supports the Church of Transfiguration in Braddock Heights, Maryland.
