Edwin and Melanie Hoffman Family Fund

The Edwin and Melanie Hoffman Family Fund, established by the Hoffman’s children in memory of Mr. Hoffman, will provide grants to nonprofit organizations addressing critical needs in Frederick County. These grants, guided by the most recent Human Needs Assessment, will support families with children, preparing for an aging population and responding to substance use disorder.

Robert J. Hogan Memorial Scholarship Fund

Founded by Monocacy Aquatic Club for college-bound graduating seniors who have participated at least two years with Monocacy Aquatic Club.

Robert J. Hogan valued both athletics and education. In keeping with his passion for competitive swimming, Robert was a swim meet director for the Monocacy Aquatic Club, which allowed him to support competitive swimmers as they grew to become better athletes. He was the parent of one of the club’s swimmers and a longtime supporter of the organization. Recognizing his love for swimming, the Monocacy Aquatic Club founded The Robert J. Hogan Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Fund awards scholarships to graduating seniors who have swam competitively for at least two years with the Monocacy Aquatic Club, and are planning to continue their education.

Robert J. and George J. Hogan, Jr. Memorial Fund

Founded through Irene Hogan’s bequest for students pursuing careers in the construction trades and grants supporting Frederick County Construction Trades Foundation, Inc.

George Hogan began working as a brick mason in Frederick County, and then worked for various construction companies in the Maryland, Virginia, and District of Columbia area. He founded Hogan & Son Construction Company and built homes in Frederick County for 10 years and rounded out his career as a building inspector for Frederick County Government for another decade. Robert Hogan learned drafting through Frederick County Public Schools Career and Technology Center. His career path included warehouse automation and robotics.
