Founded with proceeds from the Dan Crozier Music Trust to promote music appreciation, grants to musical organizations, concerts, and music scholarships.
Dan Crozier worked for the United States Army Medical Research Institute for Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick in Frederick. Although Dr. Crozier and his wife never had children of their own, he was passionate about both children and music. Dr. Crozier set up a trust fund in his will to promote music appreciation throughout Frederick County. For years, the trust awarded grants and scholarships to create awareness about music in the Frederick community. The Dan Crozier Music Trust Fund, established with proceeds from dissolving The Dan Crozier Music Trust to continue Dr. Crozier’s legacy, provides grants to musical organizations for sheet music, instruments and other necessary supplies and materials and awards scholarships to assist high school and college level students pursue formal musical education and training. In addition, this fund helps underwrite the costs of presenting and expanding the number of band and musical concerts in Frederick County.
C. Raymond and Helen Crum Memorial Fund for Chapel Lutheran Church
Founded by Mildred Nicodemus in memory of her parents to support the general operations of the Church.
Lifelong community member Mildred Nicodemus found the ideal way to honor the memory of her parents by establishing The C. Raymond and Helen Crum Memorial Fund for Chapel Lutheran Church. The fund supports the general operations of Chapel Lutheran Church, a stand-alone church dedicated to the care and well-being of others. The church is also the final resting place for Mr. and Mrs. Crum, who attended the church together when they were first married. As farmers in the Frederick County area, Mr. and Mrs. Crum were valued members of the community and had a strong connection with the church. “Even after mother and dad started attending another church in Frederick, Chapel Lutheran remained close to their hearts and they always felt as if they were still a part of the congregation,” says Mrs. Nicodemus. “This new fund will help support Chapel Lutheran and I know my parents would be pleased.”
Founded by husband Michael Cumberland for students pursuing post-secondary education in Maryland.
A generous heart, a life full of laughter, and a blessing to everyone who knew her are just a few of the ways that family and friends described Gina Cumberland, who passed away in late June 2017. To honor and remember her, The Gina M. Cumberland Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by her husband, Michael D. Cumberland. Post-secondary scholarships will be provided to students attending an educational institution in Maryland, and who have demonstrated community service or involvement, creating a legacy that exemplifies the love and kindness that Mrs. Cumberland always had for others.
