Online Application for Trumpower Foundation Scholarship Extended to April 6

FREDERICK, MD – March 13, 2020: Carroll County residents pursuing postsecondary education now have until Monday, April 6, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. to complete the online application for The Harold Glen and Audrey G. Benson Trumpower Foundation Scholarship. Following the closure of Carroll County Public Schools to prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the deadline extension is to allow students additional time to complete the application.

The Harold Glen and Audrey G. Benson Trumpower Foundation Scholarship Fund is a component fund of The Community Foundation of Frederick County. Founded by the Trumpower Foundation, the fund’s purpose is to provide scholarships to Carroll County residents.

The scholarships will support students who exceed the maximum income threshold for government financial aid programs but who still have financial need or lack resources to pay for their education. Scholarships will not replace financial aid packages provided by the government or private sources but will add to or compliment other financial aid sources. The scholarships are intended to include two-and four-year colleges and trade and technical schools, as well as non-credit certificate programs.

Details about the scholarship and the application are accessible through the Community Foundation website at www.FrederickCountyGives.org/Trumpower
